Step 1: Positioning your gunpoint
Before starting all the process you will need to position your gunpoint. It is a safety issue. While cleaning a shotgun you need to care about some facts. Choose a place where nobody is around you and you can clean your gun properly. Point your gun away from your body. Point your gun in a safe direction where nobody has the chance to get short. Also, you have to be careful about trigger while cleaning shotgun. Always try to keep your finger distance from the gun’s trigger.
Step 2: Unload your gun
Unload your gun is the most important part of any cleaning process. You can’t skip this process. To keep yourself save you must follow this instruction. Unload a shotgun is not the same as other guns. Because it has no magazine for easy unload. Don’t worry it is a very simple trick to done this job. But you will need to know the proper way and we are going to provide you that.
Every shotgun has a bolt release. You have to press it backward. In every press, it will release one bullet shell from the chamber. Pull it until every shell comes out from the magazine tube. In an auto-loading shotgun where is a button that you have to release. You have to pull it back for release. Also, it will release one bullet at one time. So keep pulling it back until every bullet shell came out. It is a wise decision to check double and triple that there is no shell available in the gun magazine tube.
Step 3: Disassemble your gun
At first, you need to disassemble your gun. For a shotgun, you don’t have to disassemble all the parts. For a pump shotgun, you need to remove the barrel. To remove the barrel you need to twist its end-cap which is located at the top of the pump. If your barrel does not come out After this then you have understood that your barrel stick there.
To solve this problem you have to pull your slide arm in the down. Then the barrel came out easily. If your gun is a single-shot shot you have to take off the forearm. After that, you can remove the barrel. If your gun is semi-automatic then you apply a different method. For a semi-automatic shotgun, you will need to unscrew the forearm cap. Then you will see your barrel came out.
Step 4:Clean using cloth
You will need a cloth for cleaning. If you have a microfiber cloth then it will be very effective for cleaning. Start rubbing your gun using the cloth. It will help to wipe out all the thick,caked-on carbon. It will also remove all the dust. Rub the cloth in the ejector properly.

All of them are not the same, some of them are very toxic and they are not good for the human body. But some solvent is safe for humans. So before buy read the full manufacturer instruction. Also, try to wear when you spray solvent. After spray wait for 20 minutes. It will help well-soak all dirt.
Now take a soft-bristles brush. If you use a toothbrush it will be work good. Now you have to scrub the whole gun using a brush. It will help to remove the hard dirt. Do not use a hard-bristled brush. It will easily damage your gun body. Scrub the whole body for 10-15 minutes.
