Things You Will Be Needing During the Cleaning Process

· BoreSnake.

· Gun cleaner.

· Lubricant

Step 1: Choosing a BoreSnake

Before you start inserting the bore snake inside the gun bore, I want you to ask you a question, is your gun caliber compatible with the bore snake? If yes, then fine. If no, then it could be trouble.

The bore snake you have picked if that fits loose inside the bore then that is not going to work. On the other hand, if that is too tight, that will work.

When you are out for buying the bore snake, pick one that is compatible with your gun caliber.

Step 2: Spray cleaner into the Boresnakes bristle

After buying the bore snake watch the BoreSnake carefully. You will notice that the snake has long nylon rope at the tail end and bronze bristles are present in the middle. Now you have to take a gun cleaner and spray it to the whole nylon directly.

Remember one thing you must have to moisten 1⁄2 part of the nylon. After doing this on the size you have to spray the other side of the bore snake. It is important to spray both in size. It wills you to clean the entire gun caliber. You can find BoreSnake cleanser at any gun shop. They wouldn’t cost you much.

 Step3: Disassemble the gun

For cleaning your gun with BoreSnake you will need to disassemble your gun. Safety is the number one priority in any gun issue. You can easily get hurt for a simple silly mistake.

At first, you need to remove the entire bullet from the gun. Remove the magazine from the gun by pressing the eject button.

After removing the magazine if you still have any bullet remaining then unload the gun and remove the bullet. If you have a Pump-action shotgun then remove the entire pump from the gun. After some time it ejects the cartridges.

Almost all types of gun have the same method. Make sure that there is no bullet available in your gun. I need to check your gun barrel double and triple. Now remove the barrel from your gun.

Step 4: Apply lubricant

Now you have applied a lubricant in your BoreSnake. The lubricant will make your gun so smooth for firing. Now you can ask us that I already apply BoreSnake cleaner in one part. Now where to apply lubricant?

The answer is you have to put lubricant exact the opposite side of the bristle. Do not apply too much lubricant in a BoreSnake. Apply a small amount of lubricant.

Step 5: cleaning the gun

Now it’s time to clean the gun. I hope you already remove the barrel from the gun. If not then open the gun barrel and put some weight on it. So that it cannot move. Bullets will help you to jam the open barrel.

Now put BoreSnake inside barrel hole. This task is a little bit tricky. Boresanke trends not to go easily inside the gun. You have to put some pressure on smooth going. Using bristle put the BoreSnake one time. When BoreSnake came out from the barrel you will see some dirt attach in the BoreSnake.

Do the same thing repeatedly four or five times.

Step 6: You are almost done

Now you can attach the barrel in your gun. Now you can assemble all the guns.

After cleaning your gun don’t forget to clean your bore snake. If you don’t clean the BoreSnake you cannot able to use them twice. Because those gun dirt will attach permanently in your BoreSnake.

Conclusion

By now you must have learned how to use a bore snake properly. We have tried to make the guide as in-depth as possible. I hope this will help in cleaning your firearm with the bore snake. However, if you don’t like bore snakes much, take a look at the top gun cleaning rods.
